There’s nothing quite like custard – silky, rich, and comforting. But when you add a splash of Baileys Irish Cream and a touch of modern technique with a cream charger, it transforms into something utterly indulgent. This Baileys Custard is not only delicious as a sauce but can also be whipped into a light, mousse-like dessert that feels restaurant-worthy.

 

Traditional custard is dense and creamy. By folding in freshly n2o whipped cream made with a whipped cream charger, you give it a lighter, airy texture. Think of it as a cross between custard and mousse – rich in flavor yet soft and cloud-like. Plus, using a cream charger ensures your whipped cream is perfectly fluffy every time.

 

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

1 cup whole milk ½ cup Baileys Irish Cream
1 cup chilled heavy cream 1 tsp vanilla extract
3 large egg yolks 1–2 tbsp powdered sugar
3 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Custard Base

Heat milk in a saucepan until just simmering.

In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale.

Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.

Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook on low heat, stirring until thickened (do not boil).

Remove from heat, stir in Baileys and vanilla. Allow to cool completely.

 

Step 2: Whip the Cream

Pour chilled heavy cream into your cream dispenser.

Add powdered sugar if you like it sweetened.

Connect with one whip cream charger, shake well, and refrigerate until needed.

 

Step 3: Create the Baileys Custard

Gently fold some of the whipped cream into the cooled custard to lighten the texture.

Spoon into serving glasses or bowls.

Top with an extra swirl of whipped cream from the dispenser.

Dust with cocoa powder or shaved chocolate.

Serve with cookies, brownies, or simply enjoy it as a stand-alone dessert.
