I like the original Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler for its mix of tart citrus, fizz, and creamy foam. When I make my own version at home, I keep the drink simple and focus on getting the cold foam light enough to float on top. A whip cream charger tank makes that part surprisingly quick.
What You’ll Need
- 1/2 cup blood orange juice
- 1/2 cup lemonade
- 1/2 cup chilled sparkling water
- Ice
- 1/2 cup cold heavy cream
- 1–2 tbsp simple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cream charger

1. Start with the Cold Foam
I always make the foam first so it has a little time to chill. Add the cold heavy cream, simple syrup, and vanilla extract to a cream whipper. Seal it, connect it with one flavored nitrous oxide following the manufacturer's instructions, and give it a few gentle shakes.
You want a soft, airy foam rather than stiff whipped cream. If it feels too thick, don't shake it more—keeping the cream cold is usually more helpful.
2. Build the Citrus Base
Fill a tall glass with plenty of ice. Pour in the blood orange juice and lemonade, then slowly add the sparkling water.
Give it one gentle stir. I don't recommend stirring too aggressively here because you'll lose a lot of the carbonation before you even add the foam.

3. Finish with Cold Foam
Now comes my favorite part. Dispense a thin layer of cold foam over the drink. I prefer starting with less and adding more if needed. The foam should sit on top and give you a creamy first sip without covering up the bright citrus flavor.
4. Give It a Quick Stir
Right before drinking, give the drink a gentle stir. The foam will start mixing into the sparkling citrus base, creating that fun bubbly, creamy texture that makes the original so enjoyable.
Serve it immediately while the drink is still cold and fizzy.

My Tip for Getting Better Foam
The biggest thing is temperature. Keep the cream, whipper, and drink cold from the start. I also avoid making the foam too sweet because the lemonade and blood orange already bring plenty of flavor. A light vanilla cream works better here and lets the citrus stay in the spotlight.
This isn't meant to be an exact copy of the DQ drink, but it gets pretty close to the same idea: bright citrus, plenty of fizz, and a soft layer of creamy foam on top.
